PALAZZO DE CASTRO
Noble residence of the Viceroy of Spain or Count of Lemos, Palazzo De Castro welcomes its guests in an atmosphere typical of its times. Very close to Lecce, the building is located in the main square in Squinzano, a small town which retains its architectural and stylistic beauty, typical of all the authentic towns in Salento. Once you enter the main door, you immediately enter the past. From the original, ample, stone-paved vestibule you gain access to the first floor. The bedrooms, which are spacious and elegantly furbished, have hosted many nobles from the Kingdom of Naples and they now allow the new guests to experience the emotion of a historically-rich break. Precious hand-embroidered sheets, typical of the local handicraft tradition, will embrace the sleepy traveller. The sumptuous hall, dominated by an elegant fireplace, is a room where guests can meet. Breakfast is a true experience: the big, original kitchen where food was prepared for the nobles becomes the ideal background to wake up to an array of traditional local products.
